How Abrigo Home Simplifies the Home Building Process
Simplifying the home building process has been one of the primary goals of Abrigo Home. Before starting construction, ensure that your builder has assisted in pricing out the Materials + Finish Collection. If you need to customize the material and finish selections, you may do so during a customization meeting with Amy.
Having one place to keep everything is the best way to keep things organized and communicated between the many parties working on the project. Ideally, an iPad or similar device will be located on the job site that has loaded on it in Google Drive the following resources:
- Home Plans – ideally Abrigo “Pro” or “Ultimate”
- Materials + Finish Collections
- All Appliance Specifications
- All Plumbing Specifications
- Structural Drawings (if any)
- Civil Engineering (if any)
The architectural designed home plans are drawn in a way that all cabinetry is designed and the plumbing and electrical are clearly laid out. Those kinds of details might seem finite but they also need to be considered at rough in.
Once all your electronic files are loaded onto a google drive that is shared with everyone associated with the project, you can print up one set for the job site, but do not allow the crew to separate out the pages. It’s important for them to see the whole picture and not just their part (for example, the foundation).
The house will need to be located on the site and this can be done with Amy during a consultation if you would like. If you don’t have civil engineering, you might be able to do this using GIS maps online per the town that you live in as long as they participate. Ultimately, your builder should be willing and able to help you with this process.
Once your foundation is in, framing starts, then the roof and windows. As soon as the house is tight, the plumber and then the electrician will start rough-ins. All plumbing and electrical will need to be selected and plumbing rough-ins on site. This means from the verification beginning we will need to know how the faucet is going to be plumbed, where the mirror is going and how the light fixtures will be installed.
There is a lot of work that happens between framing and rough-ins to the final move-in but with our plans and materials, it will be a smooth construction process. And that’s our goal at Abrigo Home, to make the construction process simplified and more budget-friendly.
